Best Draw Cycle: 2024 Hunting Bows

Fastest Bows of 2024: Hunting Bow Speed Test

For 2024 I have a total of 8 new hunting bows on hand - a record for me. In this video, I test each of these bows for speed through my chronograph. Each bow is set up (as close as possible) to 70 pounds of draw length and 30 inches of draw length. I shot each bow with the exact same two arrows. One weighing 350 grains and one weighing 455 grains. Here are the bows and their advertised speeds. H...

Also I have watched the Garmin training video which states that you can turn on what you want to see, and turn off what you don’t want to see in the scope! Just a little info only here. Thanks for the video though, helpful…. I did order this scope this evening from Amazon .

      @ArcheryTalkVideo man the traditional world of archery is pretty awesome... That's what his comment was referring too with a little joke thrown in... Why such a reply ? Traditional archery isn't for everyone and not all people have the patience to be an effective hunter using traditional equipment.... but ya don't gotta throw so much salt. I'd actually recommend you give it a try. There's something magical about literally using no sights or rest and running an arrow through a mature buck as he walks by at 10 yards using a stick and string bow only shooting 150fps.

    When the LIFT's were announced back in November 2023, I immediately took a hard stance against them. The new limbs looked weak, and the new cams were so skeletonized, they also looked weak. The draw cycle loaded up heavily in the front. The limbs looked twisted sitting at brace, all of that. This is coming from a guy who has had the VXR, V3, V3X, Phase 4 - I like Mathew bows. I am also fortunate to own and show most of the flagships each year. This year so far, I have had the Prime RVX6, Hoyt RX-8 Ultra, and Hoyt Alpha X 33. After a few months of thinking the LIFT was sketchy, and being very happy with my Hoyt's, I decided to shoot a 33 at my local shop. Immediately I realized this bow deserved some of my time. I picked up a 33 and shot it for a couple weeks. Bottom line, if you take the time to understand what is going on with this bow and IF your shop knows what is going on - these bows have the potential to be incredible. Liking the LIFT 33 and seeing the potential, I also grabbed a 29.5. My draw length is pushing the boundaries of the 29.5 - but WOW. I actually shoot the 29.5 the best of any bow this year. There is something about the overall configuration of the 29.5 that really works for me. I am glad I kept an open mind and tried these LIFTS out.

    • @huntsimple9527
      @huntsimple9527 6 днів тому

      @@nateb4543 Haha, it is my hobby and for sure I spend too much, but I could be spending on it way worse stuff! I do trade the bows when I am done with them, and trade values are way down in this current economy so my bow purchasing has slowed down a bit. My favorite bow this year is the Hoyt Alpha X 33 hands down. The draw cycle is premium and the 1/4" draw adjustment on the cams is money! They are quiet, smooth, I get super clean releases, and they are built sturdy/tough/heavy duty.

    I think the lopsided sales speak for themselves in terms of the overall best hunting bow this year. People generally shoot them all, and it seems like the vast majority chose the Lift. I’m not trying to discredit Mathews because they built a heck of a nice bow this year, but their sales are a lot due to marketing. They pay all the top archers and UA-camrs to shoot their bows and the people follow

      Hoyts are great bows. I can't see why people love them so much, they don't have anything that makes them stand out vs other bows. If I were to get a carbon bow, PSE's bows weight a pound less than hoyt and the lift also weighs less. Cams or draw are all about the same with the new tech, plus I've never heard anyone complain about draw while hunting your adrenaline would make pulling a 100-pound draw easy.

    • @mlkman5541
      @mlkman5541 Місяць тому

      Lopsided sales don't mean much in terms of what is to be considered best. people do fall for marketing and social media popularity. The same goes for hunting packs and equipment. Kifaru and peax have the most popularity that doesn't make them the best. Lopsided sales would go to bowtech. PSE is right behind hoyt as well if you'd like to base "best bow" off of sales.
